Geographies of Disability explores the relationship between space and disability explaining how space, place and related concepts such as mobility shape the experiences of disabled people. The book is organised into three parts. Part one presents a critical appraisal of theories of disability, space and embodiment and develops a disability model. Part two takes an historical perspective and uses case studies to expose how the transition to capitalism affected the everyday lives of disabled people.
