Content: The Corpus Hermeticum was a significant driver of the pluralization of forms of religion and knowledge that occurred in the Early Modern Period. Drawing on source documents penned by the critics of the Corpus Hermeticum, this study represents the first analysis of the work's ambivalent role at the intersection between hidden knowledge and the democratization of the knowledge of salvation.
