ALABAMA FOOTBALL Integration comes to the Crimson Tide football squad, rated third, nationally, last year. Andrew Pernell, Birmingham's Tucker, and "Doc" Rone, all Negroes, end the days of football segregation for the "Cremson Tide." BOXING Former US, Marine Paul Fuji takes the World's Junior Welterweight title from Champion Sandro Lopopolo of Italy in a bout in Tokyo, He's the first Japanese-American to hold a world crown.
