Of the Satyrica of Petronius, only the central section has been dealt with in modern commentaries, the famous Cena Trimalchionis . In his commentary, Peter Habermehl turns to the neglected second half of the work; a second volume (on Sat. 111–141) is scheduled to follow in about two years’ time. This is a contribution of fundamental importance to the interpretation of the Satyrica in their entirety, which are still the subject of much controversy.

Petrons Satyrica sind in moderner Kommentierung bisher nur in der zentralen Partie, der berühmten Cena Trimalchionis, erschlossen. Die besonders vernachlässigte zweite Werkhälfte ist Gegenstand des von Peter Habermehl verfassten Kommentars, dessen zweiter Band (zu Sat. 111-141) voraussichtlich in zwei Jahren folgen wird. Ein fundamentaler Beitrag zu der nach wie vor umstrittenen Deutung der Satyrica insgesamt.
