La fuerte polarización política que caracteriza a Venezuela también se mani-fiesta en el ámbito educativo. Por un lado, especialmente desde finales del año 2000, la política educativa se convirtió en un tema central de los enfrentamientos políticos. Por otro lado, la fuerte polarización a nivel político contribuyó a la intensificación de las controver-sias en torno a las reformas educativas. El artículo analiza esta interrelación entre la pola-rización política y el conflicto educativo a través de tres temas disputados: la expansión educativa y la evaluación de la calidad de la educación, la ideologización de la educación y la intención de fortalecer al Estado docente en detrimento de la educación privada. AbstractVenezuela is currently characterized by a strong political polarization, which also affects education. On the one hand, especially since the end of the year 2000, educa-tion politics became a central issue of political confrontation. On the other hand, intense political polarization also contributed to the intensification of controversies on education policies. The article analyses this interrelation between political polarization and conflicts on education with regard to three disputed issues: the expansion of access to education and the evaluation of education quality; the ideologization of the education; and the intention to strengthen the ‘Estado docente’ at the expense of private education.
