Im zweiten Teil der Studie wird die Beschaffenheit der gegenwärtigen politischen Elite in der selbständigen Tschechischen Republik und Slowakei untersucht und nach den Ursachen der tschechisch-slowakischen Trennung gefragt. Die Ursache des Untergangs der CSFR wird in der Erblast des kommunistischen Systems gesehen, in den fehlenden Erfahrungen der politischen Eliten und der Bürger mit Demokratie und Marktwirtschaft. Auf den Verlauf des Übergangs wirkte sich die zu rasche Rekrutierung der politischen Eliten negativ aus. (BIOst-Mrk)
