The studies on the pseudo-Platonic Alkibiades II presented here consist primarily of extensive research on the sources. On the one hand works from the 4th century BC were used as sources for Alkibiades II (Plato, Antisthenes), on the other hand it attacks contemporary philosophical rivals: the Stoa of Zenon of Kition and the Peripatos of the time. Thus the pseudo-Platonic dialogue is to be connected with the Academy at the time of Polemon. Wie die meisten unechten platonischen Schriften ist der Alkibiades II unzureichend erforscht. Die vorliegenden Untersuchungen analysieren die religiösen Vorstellungen, die der Lehre vom Gebet zugrunde liegen, und ihre Quellen. Insbesondere stellt sich die Frage, welche Autoren der Verfasser neben Platon verwendete. Anhand der Struktur des Werkes wird der Alkibiades II in die Tradition der sokratischen Alkibiades-Dialoge eingeordnet. Das Werk wird anhand seiner Polemik gegen die Stoa des Zenon von Kition sowie des Peripatos der Akademie zur Zeit des Polemon zugewiesen.
