This textbook provides an introduction to German Arthurian poetry in the High and Late Middle Ages. The main focus is on Arthurian romances in rhyming couplets produced between about 1180 (Hartmann von Aue) and 1300 (Konrad von Stoffeln). In addition, the appearance of the figure of Arthur and other members of the Round Table is traced in other Germanophone genres and contexts since the 13th century.
