The book aims to analyze the cultural mutations of man from his initial stages of hunter-gatherer, to the constitution of homo religiosus. El libro se propone analizar las mutaciones culturales del hombre a partir de sus fases iniciales de cazador-recolector, hacia la constitucíon del homo religiosus. A la par del culto a los antepasadosy a los fenomenos naturales, en la busqueda del conocimiento de lo numinoso ha sido importante el uso de "plantas sagradas" dentro de ritos chamanicos, lo que ha perdurado y es perceptible en el resurgimiento de una religiosidad cosmica.
