The main objective of this publication is to help States and all those involved in following up on the 2030 Agenda with regard to Afrodescendants and the International Decade. This document contains a set of indicators whose purpose is to measure ethnic and racial inequalities and gaps between Afrodescendent and non-Afrodescendent populations. The proposed indicators are underpinned by the indicator frameworks that measure the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other relevant agreements. The guidelines on human rights indicators recommended by human rights mechanisms are also taken into account. Furthermore, in order to guide future work, the publication contains some empirical results, identifying the potential, scope and limitations of the data.
