One segment introduces Professor Vasilij Emelyanov, the head of the Atomic Energy Authority, who grew up in Tsarist Baku. Another joins a 1961 Aeroflot flight to Omsk, where youths enjoy themselves at a New Year's Eve party. A later segment focuses on a Kazakh flying doctor who visits a clinic in Alma Ata. Further films on the Magnitogorsk steel works, adult education, Lenin's tomb and May Day celebrations are also included
