Content: "The Children’s Book Collection of the University Library Braunschweig was founded by Karl Hobrecker (1876–1949). In the 1930’s, he handed it over to the Reichsjugendbücherei at Berlin, from where it was transferred to Braunschweig during World War II. In 1971, along with the library of the Pädagogische Hochschule, it was incorporated into the stock of the University Library. It has developed into one of the biggest children’s book collections in an institution belonging to German public authorities. Since 2000, parts of the collection have been digitized and can be found in the Digitale Bibliothek Braunschweig. The whole collection is indexed in the catalogue of the University library as well as in the Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog. In this article, we highlight the history of the collection, describe interesting projects around the digitization of the collection and give an outlook on recent developments and future plans."
