Quand dire c’est faire— la théorie des actes de langage de John L. Austin opère loin du cadre concerné par la discipline de cette recherche. Le performatif est une qualité du langage ordinaire, tandis que l’art un artifice des moins ordinaires. Pourtant, à travers la lecture spécifique aux œuvres de l’iconographie de cette thèse, il se révèle que la lecture actée possède des qualités performatives, qui sont mobilisées par la possibilité d’inscription de cette lecture à l’œuvre. Nous cherchons dans les qualités verbales des formes- se concentrant davantage sur les installations interactives- des expressions où cette performativité s’exprime d’une façon particulière. Le regard posé sur ces dispositifs analysés a des attributs actés et fait appel à de nombreuses dimensions de l’énonciation, tant dans l’expression de la déictique que les postures spécifiques qui s’imposent à la lecture. Cette thèse explicitera la spécificité sémiotique de ces situations, où le regard performé engendrera des interprétations qui relèvent autant du jeu que de la cognition

How to do Things with Words- the theory of speech acts by John L. Austin works outside the box defined by this research. Performative utterances are characteristic of ordinary language, whereas art is everything but an ordinary artifice. Yet it seems that the acted reading of the artwork studied in this research does have performative qualities, made possible by the inscription of the reading in the artwork. We will focus upon shapes at work in verbal events and we will take a special interest in interactive installations through which this performativity expresses itself. The way these objects will be observed involves many dimensions of the enunciation, as much in deictic expressions as in specific attitudes required for the reading.This research will clarify the semiotic specificity of these situations,where the performed observation will generate interpretations which are as much a matter of game as of cognition
