Der älteste Text entstand 2009 und beschreibt Angela Merkel als deutsche Queen, der jüngste Beitrag, der das Ende der Kanzlerschaft Merkels thematisiert, wurde im Spätherbst 2021 (erst-)veröffentlicht. Dazwischen stehen Porträts etwa eines Friseurs aus Fukushima, der nach der Reaktorkatastrophe in Berlin-Marzahn gelandet ist, oder des Leiters des Brandenburger Jobcenters, der eine Gruppe älterer Hartz-IV-Empfänger auf eine virtuelle Reise zum Mount Everest schickte. An einer Stelle zeichnet der Reporter den Werdegang von Frauke Petry nach und nennt diesen tragisch, an anderer Stelle einen nordkoreanischen IOC-Funktionär, der im Gegensatz zu all seinen Landsleuten in der freien Welt auftreten kann. Neben Beiträgen über die Finanzkrise, die Corona Pandemie, Afghanistan oder das Zeitungssterben steht noch ein überzeugender Bericht über das Karriereende Michael Ballacks. - Osang schreibt eingängig und unterhaltsam. Empfohlen wie seine früheren Sammlung ("Im nächsten Leben", 2010)
