    Note: AMDigital Reference:P43/1/23 , Three portraits of Levy; two identical portraits, one signed by Levy, 'Captain, USN,' showing him as a man in his mid-fifties, sitting and smiling. Another full frontal portrait features Levy in full naval uniform holding a sword in his left hand and a scroll in his right which reads: 'Author of the Abolition of Flogging in the Navy of the U.S.' On the wall behind Levy is another portrait of two vessels, underneath which 'Commodore Uriah Phillips Levy, 1792-1862' is inscribed.
