    Umfang: circa 362 Seiten , 21 x 15 cm
    Ausgabe: 3rd revised edition
Inhalt: "herman de vries's 'wit white' is a foray into the depths of minimalism, as well as a decades-long process of refinement of the artist's idea of nothingness. Closely associated with the Zero Group and inspired by Buddhist concepts of emptiness, in 1960 herman de vries produced a series of white monochromes, accompanied by a self-published twenty-page booklet. The booklet's cover was blank, without title or author, containing nothing but a short poem celebrating the 'everywhereness' of the color white. Another version of this concept surfaced in the 1962 book 'wit', which contained two hundred blank pages, four white collages, and a completely blank introduction. Another revised version of two hundred and fifty pages appeared in 1967, and the final 'third revised edition' [...] was published in 1980, in a larger format and with more pages. The original title was translated into English, Japanese and Sanskrit, and appears on a detachable publicity strip which is wrapped around the completely blank book."--Printed Matter
