Description: One volume divided into three sections:section 1: edition of two sets of Company ordinances from 1678 and 1681 and an ordinance from 1683, printed in London for the Company of Stationers, 1692.section 2: copy of 'The Charters and Grants of the Company of Stationers of the City of London, Now in Force, Containing a plain and rational Account of the Freemen's Rights and Privileges...' by R Nutt, 1741.section 3: handwritten notes, legal queries and statement of the case of Mr Shewell with the opinions of Mr Madocks and Mr Hett, 18th-19th c.Both publications are annotated.Front pastedown contains annotations in a 19th century hand 'Mr Lockyer Davis' and 'given by Mr F Pinkney to Thomas Hopkins 11th March 1837' and modern pencil annotations '1678 Edition in Quarto vol of Extracts &c. in shelf below' and 'Important. with R. Nutt's ''Charters & Grants (a scarce item) 1741'. On front endpaper are annotations in a 19th century hand 'Orders, Rules & Ordinances 1677 Do. 1681 Do. 1682', 'N.B. The Court of Assistants not constituted till 1684 (36th Ch.11) See charter p.1A. it appears however from the 1st & 2d Charters 1 Ja. 1. that there were assistants to the Master & Wardens. See p.50:64 1603. 1615' and 'Case of Salisbury who refused to take up the Livery App. p.26'.Bound into pages 28-29 of the first set of ordinances is a copy of the Partner's oath
