Clemente Padín was born on October 8, 1939 in Lascano, Rocha, Uruguay. He is a poet, artist and graphic designer, performer, curator, videographer, multimedia and networker. He has a degree in Hispanic Literature from the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación, Universidad de la República, Uruguay. He was also the director of the magazines Los Huevos del Plata (1965-1969), OVUM 10 and OVUM (1969-1977), Participación (1984-1986) and Correo del Sur (2000-2003). Author of 25 books published in France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, the United States and Uruguay. "The [Clemente] Padin archivist: not in a professional sense, always prone, from the beginning, to document his activity and the activity of others in the field of counterculture, concerned so much with leaving a record of his ephemeral activities. -artistic interventions and performances- how to accumulate books, magazines, records, VHS tapes, papers, etc., in short, any possible support, so as not to lose the memory of a huge amount of non-mainstream art, destined for postponement or oblivion.
