Katalogbuch anlässlich einer Ausstellung in Dormagen über zeitgenössische Desert-Malerei in Australien. Desert-Kunst bezeichnet eine Kunstbewegung in Zentralaustralien und den angrenzenden Regionen. Die Malerei der Aborigene-Künstler zeichnet sich durch Farbigkeit und Lebendigkeit aus. Mit Katalogbeiträgen über die Geschichte der Western-Desert-Kunst und die spezifische Malweise. Ein weiterer Beitrag untersucht kritisch die Rezeptionsgeschichte der Aborigene-Kunst in Deutschland. Für die Ausstellung und den Katalog wurden über 50 Aborigene-Künstler ausgesucht, deren Gemälde hier alle farbig abgebildet sind. Die Künstler werden biografisch vorgetellt.
