Die Schleswig-Holsteinischen Landesmuseen Schloss Gottorf widmen in diesem Sommer dem ¿uvre des Norwegers Johan Christian Dahl (1788-1857) eine große Ausstellung. Neben Zeichnungen, Radierungen, Aquarellen und Ölstudien sind auch für Dahl typische großformatige Gemälde aus skandinavischen und deutschen Museen zu sehen, die wegen des schwierigen Transports bisher nicht außerhalb ihrer Häuser gezeigt wurden. Dahl war Zeitgenosse und Freund Caspar David Friedrichs und gilt mit seinen durchkomponierten Landschaftsbildern nach Friedrich als wichtigster Vertreter der malerischen Romantik in Dresden, wohin er als Dreißigjähriger übersiedelte. Seine Freilichtstudien nehmen aber auch schon Züge des Realismus voraus. Der monographische Ausstellungsbegleitband enthält Aufsätze zu Dahls Leben und künstlerischer Entwicklung und seinen Platz im europäischen Kontext sowie einen umfassenden Abbildungs- und Katalogteil.
