Nach Schätzungen von terre des hommes leben seit den späten 1960er Jahren mehr als 30.000 adoptierte Kinder aus dem Ausland in Deutschland. Viele von ihnen haben keine Informationen darüber, woher sie kommen und wer ihre Eltern sind. Die Studie untersucht, wie und warum sich diese adoptierten Kinder im Erwachsenenalter auf die Suche nach ihrer Herkunft machen, welche (Diskriminierungs-)Erfahrungen sie in der Aufnahmegesellschaft in Deutschland gemacht haben und wie sie sich hier selbst verorten. Interviewt wurden Adoptierte im Alter von 21 bis 30 Jahren aus dem Herkunftsländern Korea, Kolumbien, Chile und Indien. 〈dt.〉
