Document known as the "Kümmel Report" written by Otto Kummel, general director of museums for the German government in the Third Reich, which outlines lists of art works in European museums and in private ownership that the Nazis determined to have been "stolen" from Germany since 1500. The entries identify the name of the artist, name of the work and location of item and prices realized at auction. The report is divided into 3 parts which identifies 1. Works and collections where their location is known. 2. Works and collections whose whereabouts are unknown and 3. A list of confiscated works and collections as a result of the war in the possession of German nationals. Items listed include paintings, prints, sculptures, antiquities, coins, furniture, textiles and other precious and decorative objects. This report was used as a blueprint and rationale to target artworks across Europe for confiscation by the Nazis
