Smetanas Moldau aus dem Zyklus "Mein Vaterland" zählt zu seinen bekanntesten Werken. In diesem musikalischen Bilderbuch fungiert als Reiseleiter Marko Simsa alias Jaromir Pospischil, der Dirigent, der vor dem anstehenden Konzert noch viele Hinweise geben kann: Auf sprudelnde Quellen, Jagdszenen, ein Hochzeitsfest, den aufgehenden Mond, Nymphen und Nixen und längst vergangene Zeiten, auf gefährliche Stromschnellen, nach denen die Moldau ihrer majestätischen Gröe︢ bei Prag erreicht, bevor sie schliesslich in die Elbe mündet. Simsa macht deutlich, mit welchen Mitteln Smetana die einzelnen Episoden jeweils in Musik umsetzt und leitet zum genauen Hinhören an. Der Text des Bilderbuches ist im Wesentlichen auch auf der CD zu hören, ergänzt durch die jeweils passende Musik. Am Schluss erklingt noch das komplette Musikstück. Die stimmigen Illustrationen von D. Eisenburger ergänzen Musik und Erläuterungen aufs Feinste. Eine gelungene Einführung in Smetanas Meisterwerk. Ab 5
