Der Bestsellerautor (am bekanntesten der Insider-Bericht "Wall Street Poker", BA 9/90) schildert die Praktiken der Finanzunternehmen am Beispiel mehrerer Protagonisten, die gegen die grossen Investment-Banken wetten, dass die hochkomplizierten Hypotheken-Briefe an der Börse immer weiter steigen. Das Buch bietet unterhaltsam die Möglichkeit zu sehen, wie Finanzakteure "ticken", wie schnell neue Finanzinstrumente um sich greifen und wie Risiken immer weiter verteilt werden (beispielsweise an die "dummen Deutschen") und daher höher ausfallen. Eindrücklich auch die Schilderung, wie man selbst bei einem Kursverfall Gewinn machen kann. Manche Fachbegriffe werden nicht erklärt, sind aber aus dem Zusammenhang zu erschliessen. Mit Register.
