Bernadac in "Picasso-Museum Paris" (ID 12/92) erläutert die Kuratorin am Centre Pompidou hier kunsthistorisch fundiert das Leben des Jahrhundertkünstlers anhand seiner Arbeitsperioden und seiner Hauptwerke. Auf den 1. Blick scheint der Band auch für Oberstufenschüler geeignet. Da die enthaltene Bebilderung jedoch verständlicherweise bei weitem nicht dem Umfang der darin beschriebenen Werke entsprechen kann, ersetzt er keine der gröe︢ren Monografien zu Teilbereichen des Werks, sondern ist in direktem Zusammenhang mit ihnen zu sehen. Wo noch vorhanden, die 2-bändige Ausgabe "Pablo Picasso. 1881-1973" von C.P. Warncke (Taschen; hier zuletzt BA 3/92) unbedingt erhalten oder antiquarische wiederbeschaffen, da der 33-bändige Werkkatalog von Ch. Zervus nur in grossen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken zu finden ist. Lebensdaten, Quellen- und weiterführende Literaturangaben sind in einem nützlichen Apparat angehängt. - Breite Empfehlung für diese neue, ebenso übersichtliche wie gut lesbare und handliche Werkbiografie, die zum Weiterforschen anregt.
