Zwei großformatige Bilder begleitet von kurzen Erläuterungen, die sich auf Schillers Drama "Wilhelm Tell" beziehen. Das erste Bild zeigt die Flucht Tells aus Gesslers Boot auf dem Vierwaldstätter See, das zweite die Szene auf dem Hohlweg nach Küssnacht, in der Tell Gessler mit einem Schuss aus seiner Armbrust niederstreckt. Gessler, hoch zu Ross in der Bildmitte, greift sich an sein Herz, während die Bittstellerin Armgard im Vordergrund das jüngste ihrer drei Kinder emporhebt, um ihm zu zeigen wie "ein Wüterich verscheidet". Tell hält sich oberhalb davon im Hintergrund.
