Der im Kreis Tondern/Nordschleswig aufgewachsene Jens Peter Jessen zog vor 100 Jahren als Freiwilliger in den 1. Weltkrieg, kehrte schwer verwundet in seine nunmehr dänische Heimat zurück, schloss sich den Nationalsozialisten an, machte als Wirtschaftswissenschaftler Karriere, wendete sich dann aber mehr und mehr von den Machthabern ab, kam in Verbindung mit Widerstandsgruppen und war an den Vorbereitungen des gescheiterten Hitler-Attentats vom 20. Juli 1944 beteiligt, was er mit dem Leben bezahlen musste. Sein Name ist in diesem Kontext kaum bekannt geworden. Das Buch des dänischen Autors rekonstruiert reportagehaft die Lebensstationen Jessens und gibt zugleich einen guten Einblick in die Verschwörung vom 20. Juli. Ins Deutsche übertragen von Kollege List-Petersen, gut lesbar, mit zahlreichen Quellenangaben und einem sehr nützlichen Personenregister. Gerne breit empfohlen. (S. Gülck)
