Shin Hanga : Japanese Landscapes / von Rasmus Kleine, Peter Dr. Kruska - - Bereits seit 2007 beschäftigt sich Drühl intensiv mit dem japanischen New Print Movement, dem sogenannten Shin-Hanga, das seine Wurzeln im Japan der 1910er und 1920er Jahre hat. Die Shin-Hanga-Künstler, bezogen sich einerseits auf die Tradition des japanischen Farbholzschnitts wie auch andererseits auf Einflüsse aus der westlichen Kunst des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts, speziell der Motivik der deutschen Kunst der Romantik und der Lichtsetzung des Impressionismus. - Vom Shin-Hanga inspiriert schuf Drühl über die Jahre mehr als 30 großformatige Gemälde, die mit dem ungewöhnlichen Materialmix aus Ölfarbe, Lack und Silikon von hohem Wiedererkennungswert sind.
