The "Command and Control from the Sea" experiment represents an outstanding example for the implementation of the "Joint" spirit in the German Armed Forces. The cooperation between the involved parties from Army and Navy, as well as from all other contributing service branches has proven to be very positive. Despite many earlier tests and simulation trials reality has proven to be different from synthetic scenarios. The current findings and the evaluation of the experiment have provided proof that "Command and Control from the Sea" leads to a capability improvement, based on the assumption that the exchange of information between the frigate-based command post and the troops ashore can be permanently maintained stable. The project organisation is intensely working on this subject. In the medium term "Command and Control from the Sea" will provide an additional operational option for the Bundeswehr.
