Schmidt-Bleek, Prof. für Chemie und heute Leiter des Factor 10 Institut in Carnoules (Frankreich), fasst in seinem neuesten Buch quasi die Forschungen, Sichtweisen, Befunde und Prognosen seiner bisherigen Bücher aktualisiert zusammen. Sein Plädoyer für intelligentes, ressourcensparendes Wirtschaften bei nicht geminderter Lebensqualität liest sich hier, untermauert von vielerlei Beispielen, durchaus überzeugend, wenn auch ziemlich illusorisch bezüglich der Umsetzung, was das tatsächliche Handeln der Akteure angeht. Mit Glossar, Literaturhinweisen, Diagrammen und einer 15-seitigen Tabelle, die den Material-Input für ausgewählte Rohmaterialien und Produkte auflistet. Ein wichtiger Titel innerhalb der Reihe "Forum für Verantwortung" (vgl. Latif und "Was verträgt unsere Erde noch?" in dieser Nr.), die, wo immer möglich, als Fortsetzung angeboten werden sollte.
