The Academic Council of the Melnikov Permafrost Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has decided to publish a series of biographical and bibliographic essays about outstanding permafrost scientists who have worked and are working at the institute. This brochure is dedicated to the famous geographer and geocryologist, who worked at the institute for almost 30 years, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Igor Aleksandrovich Nekrasov.
