Anlässlich des fünfzigjährigen Bestehens der Zionistischen Jugend in Deutschland (ZJD) lässt das Jüdische Museum Berlin die Geschichte der jüdischen Jugendbewegungen in Deutschland Revue passieren. Zum Auftakt des Symposiums spricht Ulrike Pilarczyk zum Thema ůDas Selbstverständnis der zionistischen Jugend im Spiegel der zeitgenössischen Fotografieś über die Zeit bis zum Beginn des Zweiten Weltkrieges. Im Anschluss analysieren und bewerten Micha Brumlik, Hans Jakob Ginsburg, Stefanie Schüler-Springorum und Moshe Zuckermann in einem Podiumsgespräch die Geschichte der ZJD vor dem Hintergrund der Nachkriegsgeschichte der Juden in Deutschland. Am Abend sind alle Interessenten eingeladen, ihre ganz persönliche Geschichte als ZJD-Mitglieder anhand eigener Fotos zu thematisieren. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für die Geschichte der deutschen Juden Hamburg und der Jüdischen Volkshochschule Berlin.
