Sicher, Wladimir Kaminer, der Deutsche russisch-jüdischer Abstammung, der mit dem Buch Russendisko und der gleichnamigen Partyreihe international bekannt wurde, ist weder in Berlin geschweige denn in Deutschland geboren noch besitzt er den typische Berliner Schnauze. Demnach ist er tatsächlich kein Berliner, auch wenn er seit 1990 dort lebt. Andererseits verkörpert er mit seinen kreativen Ideen, seinem Humor und seiner ganzen Lebenseinstellung das Berlinerische der Gegenwart so wie kein Anderer. Demnach ein echter Berliner also. Letzte Zweifel, ob Kaminer einer ist, der sich in Berlin auskennt, verfliegen, wenn man die 33 heiteren Kurzkapitel liest, denn die zeugen von einer echten Ortskenntnis. In jeder Episode erzählt er eine kleine Geschichte rund um ein Thema oder einen Ort, den man als Nicht-Berliner durchaus einmal besuchen sollte -- als Berliner sowieso. Eine kurze Auswahl: Welchen Unterschied gibt es zwischen Ost- und Westberliner Steuerberatern? Wo kriegt man zehn Kilo Bananen für 50 Cent und mit etwas Glück noch einen Opel Kadett obendrauf? Und was machen eigentlich die Tschuktschen, Berlins kleinste Minderheit? Wie so meist bei Kaminer sind die Pointen sehr schön gesetzt, wer nicht zumindest schmunzelt, hat sich entweder am Kaminerschen Stil sattgelesen oder ist gerade einfach nicht in der Stimmung.
