Als junger Mann hörte der Amerikaner Louis Sarno im Radio einen Gesang, der ihn nicht mehr losließ. Er folgte den geheimnisvollen Klängen bis in den zentralafrikanischen Regenwald, fand seine Musik bei den Bayaka-Pygmäen und blieb bei ihnen. 25 Jahre später ist Louis ein vollwertiges Mitglied der Gemeinschaft aus Jägern und Sammlern. In diesem Film begleitet der Musikologe Louis Sarno seinen Sohn, den Pygmäen Samedi, auf einer Reise vom afrikanischen Regenwald nach New York City.
