In einem Interview mit dem Extremismusforscher und Terrorismusforscher Alexander Strassner geht der Befragte auf die verschlechterte militärische Lage der Terrormiliz Islamischer Staat in Syrien und die Auswirkungen auf Europa ein. Vor dem Hintergrund des Terroranschlages durch Anis Amri erläutert er den Begriff "Gefährder" und beurteilt die Risikolage für Deutschland. Zudem erläutert Strassner, wie die Radikalisierung von Individuen erfolgt und welche Faktoren (Rache, individuelle Wahrnehmung, Abenteuerlust) dazu beitragen. Anschließend erklärt er, wo Staat und Gesellschaft ansetzen können, um Radikalisierungsprozessen frühzeitig entgegenzuwirken. Die letzte Frage zielt auf die Ängste der Bevölkerung vor Terrorismus sowie die Beurteilung der Arbeit der Sicherheitsbehörden und mögliche Verbesserungen. Nach Meinung des Interviewten resultieren die Schwachstellen aus föderal organisierten Sicherheitsstrukturen in Deutschland und fehlender Kooperation auf europäischer Ebene.
