Deutschland in den Jahren 1999/2000. Das 3. Reich scheint finstere Vergangenheit und dennoch liegt in dieser Zeit der Anlass eines mörderisches Geschehen in Hamburg, dem Ehefrau und 2 Kinder des Immobilienmaklers Holler zum Opfer fallen. Der Historiker Dr. Stachelmann, der u.a. über Buchenwald forscht, kommt der Kripo zu Hilfe. Im Laufe der Ermittlungen geschehen 2 weitere Morde und auch Stachelmann selbst entkommt nur knapp einem Anschlag. Dieses spannende Hörspiel (Buch: BA 12/02) des Sohnes von Hoimar von Ditfurth führt auf die Spur derer, die mit ehemals jüdischem Grundbesitz nach dem 2. Weltkrieg reich geworden sind. Die Gedanken des Mörders, in denen seine Beweggründe deutlich werden, sind immer wieder spannungssteigernd sehr geschickt als innere Monologe zwischen die äußere Handlung eingestreut, wobei bis zum Schluss dessen Identität im Ungewissen bleibt. Sowohl Stoff als auch Inszenierung sind äußerst packend aufbereitet und deshalb für alle Krimifans empfehlenswert.
