Der französische Komponist Camille Saint-Saëns schrieb den "Karneval der Tiere" im Jahr 1886 eigentlich, um sich damit über seine Kollegen lustig zu machen. Zum Beispiel tanzen die Schildkröten den berühmten "Cancan" von Jacques Offenbach, nur viel langsamer. Allerdings schrieb Saint-Saëns nur die Musik, ohne eine Geschichte. Weil die Stücke aber so lustig waren und dem Publikum gut gefielen, erfanden später verschiedene Leute Geschichten dazu. Unsere Geschichte ist vom Dirigenten der taschenphilharmonie." (Verlag)
