Charles Chaplin (1889-1977) war nicht nur der erste Weltstar des Films, erfolgreicher Geschäftsmann im Filmbusiness und Mitbegründer der unabhängigen Produktionsfirma United Artists, zu seinen Filmen schrieb er zudem die Musik meist selbst.
