Nur so ist es zu verstehen, dass die Werke seiner Zeitgenossen, die er teilweise selbst hoch schätzte und auch selbst kannte, oft als Werke von "Kleinmeistern" abgetan werden. Der französische Pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, der sich mit seinen Einspielungen von Haydns Klaviersonaten und mit Debussys Klavierwerk einen Namen gemacht hat, legt hier hörenswerte Klaviersonaten von vier Beethoven-Zeitgenossen vor: Muzio Clementi, Jan Ladislav Dussek, Johann Nepomuk Hummel und Joseph Wölfl. Eine gelungene Ehrenrettung der genannten Komponisten und einer der interessantesten Beiträge zum Beethoven-Jahr. Für alle Klaviermusikbestände sehr gerne empfohlen. pr
