Inhalt:
The book investigates how an experienced chemistry teacher refines her pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) through coteaching with senior students in an upper secondary science class. The study is framed by Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, particularly the zone of proximal development (ZPD), and Shulman’s concepts of PCK and pedagogical reasoning. Empirical data, including video and audio recordings, were collected over 10 weeks to analyze the impact of senior student coteachers on the teacher’s instructional strategies and understanding of students' conceptual knowledge of chemical bonding. The findings highlight the benefits of coteaching in enhancing the teacher's PCK and developing new teaching methods.
