In the light of the international endeavours to professionalise carework, casework in professional care is a matter of long-standing concern; however, if one considers the current debates in German-speaking countries over the professionality of carework, it must also be seen as a highly topical issue. The present volume offers a contribution to the methodological debates of the new discipline of nursing science as an empirical science. The author applies and reflects on methods in reconstructive casework systematically and appropriately to each case in question, thereby transferring the methodological rationale for reconstructive casework to the contexts of clinical care practice, care research and care training.
