Maria Marcinkowska-Rosól provides the first detailed study of the conception of thought and knowledge in the didactic poem by Parmenides of Elea, one of the most important early Greek philosophers (6th-5th cent. BC). She succeeds in providing convincing answers to some of the central questions on Parmenides, in particular the relationship between thought and being, the overall message of Parmenides´ poem, and the connection between the two parts.
