Der Florianer Psalter, eine dreisprachig (lateinisch-polnisch-deutsch) angelegte Psalmenübersetzung des 14./15. Jahrhunderts, steht am Beginn der polnischen Schriftlichkeit. In Ergänzung zu den zahlreichen Untersuchungen zur polnischen Sprache in dieser bedeutenden Quelle widmet sich die Arbeit dem deutschsprachigen Teil, dessen Sprachform und Übersetzungsstil analysiert werden. Im Rahmen der kulturgeschichtlichen Einordnung liegt ein Schwerpunkt auf der Lokalisation, bei der das im mittelalterlichen Krakau verwendete Deutsch im Mittelpunkt steht. Daneben wird die Stellung des Florianus innerhalb der schlesisch-böhmischen Psalmengruppe beschrieben. Grundlage des Vergleichs bildet eine Edition der Bußpsalmen dieser weitgehend unveröffentlichten Psalterien.
