Mario Schreiner untersucht auf der Basis von 20 problemzentrierten Interviews, die mit der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse und der empirisch begründeten Typenbildung ausgewertet wurden, wie sich die Beschäftigung in Werkstätten für behinderte Menschen (WfbM) auf ihre Beschäftigten auswirkt. Der Autor beleuchtet dabei die Wahrnehmung von sozialer Teilhabe und gesellschaftlicher Anerkennung durch diese besondere Beschäftigungsform und identifiziert vier Typen von Werkstattbeschäftigten. Die theoretische Grundlage der empirischen Untersuchung bildet die Verbindung und Operationalisierung von Teilhabekonzept und Anerkennungstheorie.
