    Content: Paul Fleming (1609–1640) was one of the most important poets of the early modern period, and his contemporaries ranked him alongside Martin Opitz. This anthology is from an international symposium held on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Fleming’s birth. It assembles a series of papers that help provide a historical perspective for Fleming’s work in relation to literary traditions and cultural contexts (especially political, religious, and medical discourses).
