Das neue polnische "Gesetz zur Wahrung von Staats- und Dienstgeheimnissen" sieht für die Preisgabe von Staats- und Dienstgeheimnissen drastische Strafen vor. Das neue Gesetz verpflichtet nicht nur die Staatsbeamten und Behördenangestellten, sondern erstmals und ausdrücklich auch jeden Bürger zur Geheimhaltung von Staats- und Dienstgeheimnissen, von denen er Kenntnis erlangt. Ausnahmen für die Medien werden nicht gemacht. Das Gesetz hat nicht nur bei den Medien zu Empörung geführt. Auch der polnische PEN-Club und das Hesinki-Komitee für Menschnrechte schlossen sich dem Protest an. (BIOst-Mrk)
