Das Queen Alexandra Sanatorium in Davos ist ein frühmodernes Meisterwerk der Schweizer Architekten Pfleghard & Haefeli (Schatzalp, Davos) und des renommierten Bauingenieurs und Brückenbauers Robert Maillart. Als Ergebnis kollaborativer Arbeit von Ingenieur, Architekt und Bauherr entstand hier mit all ihren Widersprüchen und Kompromissen eine neue Art der Architektur an der Schwelle zur Moderne, die maßgeblich durch den Einsatz von Stahlbeton geprägt ist. Trotz einzelner früher Erwähnungen in der Architekturgeschichte gibt es jedoch kaum Informationen über diesen Vorreiter der Moderne aus der Schweiz. Gestützt auf zahlreichen Archivalien liefert Daniel Korwan nun erstmals eine detaillierte Chronologie dieses Gebäudes aus dem Jahr 1909 und ermöglicht einen erweiterten Blick auf die Geschichtsrezeption der Moderne.
