Emergenz heißt, dass sprachlichen Ausdrücken im Verstehensprozess Bedeutungsmerkmale zugesprochen werden, die nicht Teil der lexikalischen Bedeutungen bzw. der angekoppelten Konzepte sind. es wird ein präziser Emergenz - Begriff erarbeitet und emergenz als ein Phänomen der Semantik-Pragmatik - Schnittstelle am Beispiel des Metaphernverstehens expliziert. auf Basis der kognitiven Textverstehenstheorie werden zwei Modelle zum Metaphernverstehen entwickelt, die Emergenz exkt erfassen. In einer Fallstudie zu emergenten Merkmalen werden Metaphern in einem Zeitungskorpus analysiert.
