El escritor colombiano Fernando Vallejo muestra una innegable tendencia en la poética y la retórica de su obra al escándalo, a poner en jaque las presuposiciones morales sobre lo que se puede y no se puede decir y, en suma, a la impertinencia. Este libro trata de pensar, desde distintos ángulos, la problemática o bien la incomodidad que supone la obra de Vallejo dentro del discurso político actual de lo políticamente correcto. La obra de Vallejo se nutre de un humor evidente que dota a sus textos de una complejidad interpretativa que ha llevado a muchos equívocos, hasta el extremo de ser considerado un reaccionario por el reputado crítico colombiano Pablo Montoya. Más allá de tal posibilidad, este libro analiza la poética escandalosa y renovadora de Vallejo desde su potencial crítico y su apertura discursiva que, por medio de rabietas, impertinencias y humor, remueve el lenguaje y lo carga de un sentido lúdico y ético con la intención de lograr la transformación política de un país asediado por la violencia, la injusticia social y medioambiental, la misoginia y la homofobia, y la precarización de todos sus ciudadanos. Se propone, pues, rescatar la obra de Vallejo de estos malentendidos para resaltar su importancia en el debate político-estético de la literatura colombiana contemporánea. Incluye una introducción de Camilo Del Valle Lattanzio y textos de Jose Castellanos, Florian Homann, Jorge Locane, Philipp Seidel, Santiago Uhía, Kristine Van den Berghe y Natalia Villamizar.
