    Content: Este texto ofrece un panorama de los grupos de mujeres mayas en Guatemala. Se muestra la importancia que han tenido en sus desarrollos el contexto político de "la violencia” de los 80 y el proceso de paz y cómo se sitúan entre la militancia y el quehacer político, el ser mujeres y el ser mayas. Se describe su composición, discursos, actividades y demandas. También se señalan sus aportes en la tarea de desmantelar los estereotipos del férreo sistema ideológico guatemalteco y cómo se esfuerzan por crear su propio camino como mujeres mayas.
    Content: Women and Maya: Their different expressions. This text provides an overview on Maya women’s groups from Guatemala. It shows the importance that the political context of the 1980´s Violence and the peace process had for their developments, and how they have located themselves among their political engagement and activism, the fact of being women as well as Mayan. This essay deals with their different backgrounds, speeches, activities and demands. It also highlights their efforts to dismantle the stereotypes set by a strict Guatemalan ideological system, and how they are struggling to create their own path as Maya women.
